Sallah Homecoming: How Akpabio, Yahaya Bello Tried to Kill Me – Sen. Natasha

The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello of plans to assassinate her.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan who is currently serving a six-month suspension for gross misconduct and unruly behavior, also accused Akpabio and Bello of colluding to have her recalled from the Senate.

The lawmaker made the allegations on Tuesday, while addressing a crowd of supporters who received her at her country home for Sallah celebrations.

Furthermore, she alleged that Akpabio had called Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on the phone to commence her recall, but Ododo said it was impossible. She said Bello took the job of her recall.

“The second thing he told him was that he should try and kill me. I didn’t make this public but I wrote to the IG of police.  He told him that he should make sure that killing me does not happen in Abuja, it should be done here so it will seem as it’s the people that killed me here.

“I didn’t make that public, but we did notify the security agencies on that,” she said.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan who is also facing a recall process by her constituents aimed at removing her from the Senate, described the process as politically sponsored, promising it will fail.

She said most part of the senatorial district did not participate in the recall exercise, wondering how the constituents got the required signature to validate the process.

She urged the people to stand by the votes by which they elected her into the Senate.

“If the time ever comes for the verification of the 250,000 people that signed for my recall, I trust that you will do right.”
