The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has again vowed to resume plenary next week Tuesday.

This comes as the third time in a row the suspended Senator has vowed to resume plenary on Tuesday, but to no avail.

ebirareporters.com reports that the Senator canceled the first attempt last minute to await the Certified True Copy of the court judgement on her reinstatement.

Having received the judgment, the following Tuesday was short-lived by the decision of the Senate to suspend sitting in honour of the former President of Nigeria, Late Muhammadu Buhari.

Meanwhile, the Senate and Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan have continued to exchange letters on the fate of her reinstatement.

However, speaking at her Okehi Local Government Area hometown on Saturday, the Senator insisted on resuming next Tuesday, citing the court’s judgement as a decision binding on all.

“I have written to the Senate again telling them that I’m resuming on the 22nd which is on Tuesday by the special grace of God. I will be there because the court did make a decision on that. Now, they argued that it’s not an order, but it is a decision.

“If you look at Section 318 of the Nigerian constitution, it did mention that a recommendation forms part of a decision of a court. So whether it’s a recommendation, a judicial decree, a sentence or an order, they are all decisions and decisions are binding on every Nigerian and every authority and every institution.

“So, I’m going to be there live, but I also know that the Senate will be going on recess very soon, most likely next week for two months. That means by the time the Senate resumes, my six months would have elapsed and I will go back, I will resume,” she said.

She stated it would amount to further abuse of power if disallowed to resume after her six months of suspension elapse.

The Senator who was home for a training and empowerment initiative on drone use for security and environmental purposes, reiterated that her people whom she described as the luckiest constituents, are not missing out on anything despite her suspension.
