The House of Representative candidate for Dekina/Bassa, Usman Okai Austin, has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will produce the next governor of Kogi State.
Okai gave the assurance on Tuesday while addressing news men in the state.
While encouraging Kogi electorates not to be discouraged by the party’s performance in the just concluded general elections in the state, Okai said they were deceived by the introduction of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He said while they were relying on the integrity of BVAS, INEC and some security operatives where busy aiding and manipulating election results for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Okai described APC’s victory in the state as temporary, adding that Kogites are tired of Governor Yahaya Bello and his party’s gross failure and inability to meet up with the development requirements of the state.
He noted that despite the massive fraud that characterized the last general elections, PDP did well in other states, and that will be a an encouragement for the party in Kogi.
Okai said PDP will produce a very acceptable governorship candidate in the coming primary election and assured that victory is sure for the party with the collective efforts of all patriotic Kogites.
