The Coalition of Political Parties, CPP has warned political parties in Kogi State against imposition of candidates for the 2023 general elections.
The Spokesperson of CPP, Mercy Analo, stated this at a press conference in Lokoja, the state capital.
The group warned of the implications of such act, especially as the imposed candidates may be incompetent and/or unpopular.
She said they decided to hold the briefing to address political parties and the stakeholders in the management of the process for 2023 general elections.
CPP, therefore, called on all political parties to play the game by the rules.
Her words: “All political parties should allow the process, without cutting corners, to avoid litigations after the primary election.
“Any political party that fails to follow the proper procedure by bottom up approach will face the challenges of winning election in their polling units, because the electorate must speak through their PVCs during the election.”
