Troops of the Nigerian Army under Sector 3 have arrested a suspected terrorist, members of his family, and a separate suspected kidnapper during two intelligence-led operations in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.
According to security sources, the first operation was conducted around 10:00 a.m. on November 4, 2026, by troops deployed at Atsawa following intelligence reports regarding terrorist activities within the Agbaja and Kakanda forests.
During the raid, military personnel apprehended a primary terror suspect alongside members of his family over alleged involvement in insurgent activities. Items recovered from the location included one AK-47 rifle, four rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a Baofeng communication radio.
In a separate operation about an hour later, troops deployed at Jamata acted on intelligence reports indicating that suspected kidnappers and their collaborators were hibernating within the Agbaja Forest corridor.
The troops tracked and apprehended another suspect allegedly linked to kidnapping operations, recovering a motorcycle and other miscellaneous items.
Military authorities confirmed that all suspects and recovered exhibits have been moved to military custody for further investigation and profiling.
The operations form part of sustained security efforts by the military to dismantle criminal networks, disrupt logistic and operational links between terrorists and kidnapping syndicates, and clear out enclaves across the forested terrain of Kogi State.
