The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has presented a Certificate of Commendation to the Vanguard Against Drug Abuse (VGADA) for its sustained support in the campaign against substance abuse and addiction in Nigeria.
NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), presented the award to the organisation in Abuja on Thursday.
The commendation recognizes VGADA’s efforts across prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, advocacy, and public education under the agency’s War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) initiative.
Following the presentation, the Executive Director of VGADA, Dr. Hope Omeiza, met behind closed doors with Marwa, reaffirming the group’s commitment to collaborating with the NDLEA and other civil society organizations to tackle drug addiction nationwide.
Reiterating VGADA’s resolve, Omeiza stated that combating drug abuse requires collective and sustained partnerships among government bodies, development partners, and civil society to achieve a drug-free society.
