Renowned Medical Doctor and administrator, Dr. Hope Omeiza has declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat of Okene/Ogori-Mangogo Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Dr. Omeiza declared joining the race on Wednesday as an answer to the calls from elites, technocrats and various groups from the constituency.
In his statement of declaration, he stated his intentions were not borne from personal ambitions, but out of a shared conviction that the constituency deserves more in effective representation, inclusive leadership and development.
He said: “After deep reflection, wide consultations, and a sincere consideration of the voices of our people, I have decided to accept the call to serve.
“Over the past months, I have listened keenly to the clamour of elites, technocrats, youths, elders, and many other well-meaning constituents across Okene/Ogori-Magongo. The message has been clear and consistent, there is a growing desire for purposeful, responsive, and quality representation that truly reflects the aspirations of our people.
“This decision is not borne out of personal ambition alone, but out of a shared conviction that our constituency deserves more; more effective representation, more inclusive leadership, and more tangible development.
“Let me be clear: this journey will not be about political parties, but about the wishes of the masses. The quality, capacity, and character of the candidate must remain supreme above all else. Our people deserve leadership that is defined not by party lines, but by competence, integrity, and genuine commitment to service.
“I step forward not as one who has all the answers, but as one who is committed to listening, learning, and leading with integrity, competence, and compassion. Together, we can build a future that works for everyone.
“This is our moment. Let us rise, united in purpose, and chart a new course for our constituency.”
