Former Senator, Ahmed Ogembe has joined the Senate race to represent Kogi Central Senatorial District in the 2027 elections.
Senator Ogembe is running for the Kogi Central ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The former Senator who served in the 8th National Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), left the party in 2025, and reportedly collapsed his structure into the ADC.
In a Facebook page post attributed to him and addressed to the people of the senatorial district, Ogembe said he seeks to return as one who is not a learner, but experienced with proven capacity and experience of the system.
“I have been there before. I know how the system works, and more importantly, I know how to make it work for our people,” he said.
He noted despite that Kogi Central is blessed, these blessings have not fully translated into the deserving level of development, empowerment, and representation.
“Our youths are strong, intelligent, skilful, and full of potential, yet many remain unemployed. There is no viable industry to keep our youths busy. None to drive in visitors and investors. Our voices at the national level must be louder, not aggressively loud, but stronger, strategic, and more respected,” he added.
He promised to “fight for real empowerment for our youths, not tokenism. Attract meaningful projects that impact lives directly; like industrialization and viable investments. Strengthen our presence and influence at the National Assembly. Promote unity across clans, faiths, and political lines. Ensure that Kogi Central is not sidelined, but prioritized.”
