As the recurring water scarcity bites harder, residents of Kogi Central Senatorial District have resorted to begging a Non Governmental Organization, DAM Foundation to provide potable water for the people.
In a Facebook opinion poll conducted by the NGO asking for project recommendations, ebirareporters.com monitored that over 90% of comments from the netizens appealed for water, underscoring the severity of the scarcity in the district.
The senatorial district is made up of five local government areas, and has since produced two Governors, Yahaya Bello and the incumbent, Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Some of the comments noted the inability of elected leaders to tap into the abundance of water bodies like the Osara Dam, Ekuku Dam and Okene Waterworks to provide water, the people have now buried their faith in streams which they climb mountain to get.
