Two people died and three others were injured in a motor accident that occurred near Ahoko village along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.
A witness said the accident, which happened on Sunday around 6:45 am, involved a Golf car with the registration number CB 514LKJ.
The vehicle was traveling from Lokoja to Zuba in the FCT when the driver lost control after a tire burst, causing the car to crash into a ditch.
Two people in the vehicle died on the spot, while three others sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital in Abaji by officials from the Gegu unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
An FRSC official involved in the rescue operation confirmed the incident, saying that the dead and injured victims were taken to the general hospital in Abaji. The official attributed the accident to over speeding and a tire blowout.
