Man Arrested over Goat Theft in Kogi Community

A man suspected to be notorious in stealing goats in Kabba community of Kogi State have been apprehended by the vigilantes.

A source from the state vigilante service said the suspect, a carpenter, was arrested for stealing a goat on Friday in Kabba town in Kabba/ Bunu Local Government Area of the state.

The source added that the operatives were on the trail of his accomplice said to be on the run.

“A woman suspected to be buying stolen goats from the suspect in the community was also arrested in the process. We are on the trail of the second person who has been operating with him. We will not disclose their identity now since investigation into their activities is still in progress,” said a vigilante, who craved anonymity.

The chairman of Kabba/ Bunu LGA, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, said the arrested persons would face the law once the investigation into their case is completed.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Aya, did not respond to calls and text messages sent to him on the arrest.
