Council leaders in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the new Chief Medical Director of Reference Hospital Okene, Prof Solomon Avidime in his office.
The council leaders expressed their delightfulness in having a magnificent health facility in their domain, they appreciated his Excellency Gov Yahaya Bello for bringing light to Ebira land through all his legacy projects.
They said, it is also a thing of joy for the entire Ebira nation to possess an experienced, intellectual property as their son to head this legacy project.
They noted that the responsibility is not a small one and they are ready to participate in the successes to be recorded towards the imporvement of the health status of the people they represented.
Prof. Avidime appreciated the council leaders for the courtesy visit, and said it gladden his heart that Ebira people appreciated the kind gesture of His Excellency, Gov Yahaya Bello to bring several developments to Ebira Land, one of which is the Reference hospital Okene, he promised to give his best to compliment the state government in ensuring qualitative health delivery to all the people including the indigents.
He urged the council leaders to take the good news to the people in the grassroots that Okene Reference hospital is fully opened first to them and then to all coming from far and near.
Further, Prof Avidime reiterated to the council leaders that the hospital has put Okene in the world healthcare map as it will attract medical tourism
Prof Avidime appreciated the Okene local government council boss, Engr Mohammed Abdulrazak for ensuring that security operatives are stationed within the medical complex and their welfare adequately catered for by the Council.
