Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Monday said that the online agitation by the supporters of Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is different from what is obtainable with grassroot mobilization.
Governor Bello who is the National Youths Coordinator of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential campaign organization, stated this on Monday while fielding questions from Seun Okinbaloye of Politics Today flagship programme on Channels Television.
The Governor prided himself as the only person who commands the Nigerian youths.
“During the contest before the Presidential primaries of all political parties, the only person that commands the respect and control of the Nigerian youths is Governor Yahaya Bello. Peter Obi, I respect him. A gentleman, one time governor, a business man whom everybody knows has engaged in several businesses including importation of the majority of the products we consume today.
“He is doing well in his own right but let me tell you, first, online agitation or whatever is different from grassroot movement and mobilization,” he said.
Reacting to the ANAP Poll result which projected Obi as the likely winner of the 2023 Presidential election, Bello said he experienced same in 2019 and he had a landslide victory.
“I knew exactly what I had put on ground and the connectivity I had on ground, and I won the election like never before in the history of Kogi State,” he said.
He said the forthcoming election will show Nigerians that he has the command and respect of the youths, whom he said look forward to him leading them aright.
He added that his appointment into the campaign organization was an indication that the candidate of his party is pro-youths, and will allow the youths run the affairs of the country if elected.
