The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) has initiated processes as preparatory grounds for the conduct of local government councils election in the state.
The state electoral commission has called for a meeting to interface with critical stakeholders.
The meeting, ebirareporters.com, would Kickstart next week Tuesday, and billed to brief political parties and stakeholders on the timetable and schedule for the election.
The move is not unrelated to the Supreme Court ruling that the abrogated Caretaker Committee Chairmen to overseeing the affairs of Local Government.
Meanwhile, the Kogi State Government had last week, extended the tenure of caretaker Chairmen and their transition committee by another six months.
The tenure of the 21 Transition Committee Chairmen in Kogi State was expected to expire on the 8th of July, 2024.
