By John Akinfehinwa<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Trade Union Congress, (TUC) has condemned the non-implementation of the N30,000 new minimum wage by the Kogi State Government.<\/p>\n State Chairman of TUC, Comrade Ronti Ojo made the position of the union known on Thursday shortly after the State Administrative Council meeting of TUC held in Lokoja.<\/p>\n He lamented that the poor living conditions of workers in the state owing to the current inflation trend in the country which has depleted the 18,000 minimum wage the government pays to its workers.<\/p>\n Ojo also faulted the committee set up by the government, which had failed to submit its report two years after it was set up by Governor Yahaya Bello.<\/p>\n He called on the Governor to prevail on the committee to submit their report for onward implementation adding that, there is a need for the government to look into the welfare of workers such as promotion implementation, annual increments in a bid to raise the living standard of workers in Kogi State.<\/p>\n DAILY POST reports that the meeting was attended by all the executives of the Trade Union Congress, TUC.<\/p>\n The position of TUC is coming a day when the State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Comrade Onuh Edoka expressed shock that two years after Governor Bello Constituted committee, the Kogi State Government is yet to implement the new minimum wage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"By John Akinfehinwa The Trade Union Congress, (TUC) has condemned the non-implementation of the N30,000 new minimum…\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1,2],"tags":[34],"class_list":{"0":"post-966","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-uncategorized","7":"category-news","8":"tag-kogi"},"yoast_head":"\n
