National Youths Service Corps<\/a> (NYSC), Mrs. Biodun Olobukola, has called on employers to take the welfare and security of serving corps members seriously.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The director, who gave the charge during the 2023 Corps Employers Workshop held at the Government House, Lokoja, described the corps members as \u201cprecious assets\u201d to the country.<\/p>\n
State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Mofoluwaso Williams, and the other resource person did justice to the theme of this year\u2019s workshop, \u2018Tackling the emerging Challenges in Corps Administration through NYSC\/Stakeholders\u2019 Participation\u2019.<\/p>\n
Olobukola said the workshop was not only a platform for the exchange of ideas, but a \u201cveritable avenue for the improvement of the quality of service delivery both on the part of the NYSC, corps employers and other stakeholders towards the realisation of the goals and objectives of NYSC in the task of nation building.\u201d<\/p>\n
The two papers, \u2018Performance Appraisal: A Tool to Tackle Workplace Challenges and Achieve Set Goals\u2019 and \u2018Communication, an Effective Tool in Achieving Set Goals\u2019, delivered by seasoned resource persons, were meant to raise germane issues in the effort to improve the achievement of NYSC goals of the predicted upon National Development.<\/p>\n
Represented by her assistant, Mr. A. Abdullazeez, she urged the participants to listen keenly to the resource persons and contribute meaningfully to gain better insight into resolving challenges as quickly as possible and channeling the same to the realisation of a mutually beneficial goal.<\/p>\n
\u201cEfforts of the state government in providing an enabling environment for the smooth operation of the scheme in the state is, without doubt, most encouraging. I, therefore, express gratitude to Governor Yahaya Bello for his kindness towards the scheme,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
