{"id":7976,"date":"2023-07-23T18:50:05","date_gmt":"2023-07-23T17:50:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=7976"},"modified":"2023-07-23T18:50:05","modified_gmt":"2023-07-23T17:50:05","slug":"ndlea-in-kogi-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/ndlea-in-kogi-2\/","title":{"rendered":"NDLEA Intercepts 48,380 Pills, Others in Kogi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it has intercepted 48,380 pills of tramadol along Ewohimi road, heading toward Kabba in Kogi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is contained in a statement in Abuja Sunday by the agency\u2019s Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Babafemi disclosed that the consignment were loaded in a commercial bus marked KAK 66 XA, noting that the NDLEA operatives apprehended the bus driver, Ibrahim John in the process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In another development, Babafemi said a total of 273kg cannabis was earlier intercepted in a Toyota Sienna Vehicle marked RBC 451 CM on Wednesday July 19 at Ogida, Benin City.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to him, two suspects: Abubakar Suleiman, 30 and Shehu Garba (aka Shagari), 29, were arrested along Keffi \u2013 Akwanga road on July 18 in a Peugeot J5 vehicle loaded with 1,608.4 kilograms of cannabis sativa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that the consignment was loaded in Edo state and meant for distribution in Bauchi state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMeanwhile, a total of 1,556.1kg of cannabis was recovered from two suspects: Jonathan Nuhu, 54 and Mohammed Abubakar, 18, following their arrest at Wudil area of Kano State on Thursday July, 20.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Babafemi said 76kg of same substance was seized from Yakubu Muhammad, 32, on July 17 along Okene\/Lokoja highway in a trailer coming from Port Harcourt to Kano.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the same vein, NDLEA operatives in Ogun had on July 19 recovered 810 parcels of cannabis weighing 604kg from the house of one Adetunji Abiodun.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cFresh bid to smuggle into Nigeria, another consignment of Colorado, a synthetic variant of cannabis, through the Tincan Port in Apapa Lagos was again on Friday July 21 frustrated by NDLEA officers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThey discovered a total of 323 parcels of the illicit substance weighing 161.5kg concealed in one of the four used vehicles in a container marked MEDU 7519460 coming from Montreal, Canada, during a joint examination of the shipment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAt least, three suspects are currently in NDLEA custody over the shipment while a bribe of N20 million converted to $22,900 offered to operatives by the importer\u2019s agents has also been recovered and documented as evidence, \u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it has intercepted 48,380 pills of tramadol along Ewohimi road,&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[78],"tags":[34,158],"class_list":{"0":"post-7976","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-crime","7":"tag-kogi","8":"tag-ndlea"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.1 -
