The Comptroller of Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Kogi State Command, Mr Taiwo Yunusa Musa, has bowed out after 35 years of active service.<\/p>\n

The pulling-out parade took place at the Command\u2019s Headquarters in Lokoja, on Monday.<\/p>\n
\n
At the well-attended ceremony, the representative of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mrs Aminat Usman, described Musa as a very active officer.<\/p>\n
\n
\u201cRetirement from active duty is natural and an inevitable end of service for every serving personnel and it begins to count from the day you join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Nigeria,\u201d Usman added.<\/p>\n
\n
The pulling-out parade which is part of the NIS tradition for retired senior officers, was well attended by all Service Chiefs and senior personnel in the state.<\/p>\n
\n
Speaking with newsmen, Musa, said \u201cI feel honoured, my joy is complete. I feel fulfilled after 35 years of movement from one state to another, leaving the family behind and all the issues that came with the job,. So, all glory goes to God.<\/p>\n
\n
\u201cTremendous changes were made under my leadership with the assistance of officers and men.<\/p>\n
\n
\u201cI am very proud today. I am leaving the Service better than I met it. I have made my contributions and I pray that successive leaders will improve on what we have done,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\n
The outgoing Comptroller passed the baton of leadership to Deputy Comptroller, T. A Adetula, who becomes the acting Controller.<\/p>\n
\n
Until now, Adetula was the Passport Control Officer, Kogi State Command.<\/p>\n
\n
Adetula who promised to sustain the good legacies and continue to build on the achievements on ground, solicited the cooperation of staff and officers of the command.<\/p>\n
\n
He, however, appealed for the collaboration of sister security agencies in the state to ensure adequate security of Kogi State.<\/p>\n
\n
He also assured that foreigners living and doing business in the state would be closely monitored to ensure they do not engage in acts capable of undermining national economic interest and peaceful coexistence.<\/p>\n
\n
