Sabina, the sister of the late Major General Hassan Ahmed, has been released after thirteen days in captivity, Daily Post is reporting<\/span><\/p>\n

The former Provost Marshal (PM) of the Nigerian Army was murdered between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on July 15 within the Abaji area of Abuja.<\/a><\/p>\n

The next day, Ahmed was buried at the Lungi Barracks Cemetery in the nation\u2019s capital in line with Islamic rites.<\/a><\/p>\n

Recall that gunmen ambushed and killed the top military officer on his way back from a trip to Okene in Kogi.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Ahmed was chauffeured by his driver, Sergeant Bukar, in a Toyota Hilux vehicle with a private plate number. He was without guards.<\/p>\n

The assailants kidnapped Sabina, first thought to be the wife. Her whereabouts remained unknown for more than three days after the incident.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, a source close to the family told DAILY POST that the victim is now free.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m happy to inform you that General Ahmed\u2019s sister, Sabina is back. She was released today.<\/p>\n

\u201cA good man, just about 50 years old, was killed; his sister was held hostage for two weeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor us, these are trying moments. But in all, we thank Almighty God.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was further gathered that the victim, in her 30s, is seriously traumatized. She is currently at a safe location and will undergo medical treatment.<\/p>\n

The Chief of Army Staff, Faruk Yahaya appointed the late Ahmed as a Director at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.<\/p>\n

The ex-PM assumed office less than two weeks before his life was cut short.<\/p>\n
