Residents of NASFAT community, Felele phase II, a suburb of Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital, have lamented absence of power supply by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, (AEDC), for several months.<\/p>\n

The Community Chairman, Hon Sani Ibrahim and Chairman Committee on Electricity, Raji Omuya disclosed this on Monday in a Save Our Soul letter addressed to the Lokoja office of AEDC.<\/p>\n

The group lamented that the development has continued to bring hardship in the area, paralyzing economic activities.<\/p>\n
\n
They stated that hoodlums now capitalize on the power outage to perpetuate all forms of criminal activities.<\/p>\n
\n
The community appealed to AEDC and Governor Yahaya Bello to provide them with a new transformer.<\/p>\n
\n
The letter reads in part \u201cWe are calling on AEDC and Governor Yahaya Bello to quickly come to our aid. Our community has been suffering from total blackout for several months. Economic activities have been crippled, hoodlums are taking advantage of this situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll we are asking for is a new transformer to fix our electricity problem. We have made contributions within ourselves to restore power back to our community but it is far above us, that is why we are making this passionate appeal for AEDC and Governor Bello to come and save us from these long months of darkness and hardship.\u201d<\/p>\n
