Kogi State Police Command has arrested 15 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers, cultists and recovered some weapons from them along Kabba-Lokoja Expressway. Commissioner of Police, Mr Akeem Yusuf, said:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe command has sent strong signal to criminals terrorising the state.<\/p>\n
\n
\u201cI have ordered operatives to go after the hoodlums. We had brake through after raiding their hideouts. The police tactical team arrested 10 armed robbery suspects on Kabba-Lokoja Expressway and Lokoja-Abuja Expressway.<\/p>\n
\n
\u201cThey attempted robbing travellers but were intercepted and arrested.<\/p>\n
\n
Some AK-47 rifles, guns, magazines and charms were recovered from them.<\/p>\n
\n
\u201cAnother set of suspects was arrested in Lokoja. We recovered phones, jewelleries and other items from them. They confessed to the crime.<\/p>\n
\n
The tactical team raided their hideouts in the bush. Officers were immediately redeployed to flashpoints in Lokoja.<\/p>\n
\n
\u201cI give kudos to my officers for the way they conducted themselves during, before after the last elections. They applied professionalism in carrying out their duties.<\/p>\n
\n
\u201cPolice had an encounter with a gang of kidnappers who attempted to abduct victims. They came from neighbouring Ekiti State to carry out their evil act. We tamed them. They abandoned their cutlasses, charms and guns.<\/p>\n
\n
\u201cToday, Kogi State is peaceful and calm. We want to appreciate members of the public for given us vital information, which enabled us to flush the hoodlums out of the state.
