{"id":6188,"date":"2023-04-04T15:51:22","date_gmt":"2023-04-04T14:51:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=6188"},"modified":"2023-04-04T15:51:22","modified_gmt":"2023-04-04T14:51:22","slug":"pdp-guber-primary-i-have-no-anointed-candidate-in-kogi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/pdp-guber-primary-i-have-no-anointed-candidate-in-kogi\/","title":{"rendered":"PDP Guber Primary: &#8216;I Have No Anointed Candidate in Kogi\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/2023\/04\/03\/kogi-pdp-elders-raise-alarm-over-plot-to-impose-dino-melaye\/\">Against allegations of plots to impose Dino Melaye on the party,<\/a> the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, Atiku Abubakar, has said that he has no anointed candidate in the forthcoming Kogi State governorship primary election.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Atiku in a statement through his media Adviser, Paul Ibe, said that he believed that the decision to elect the flag bearer of the PDP in the coming election in Kogi State was the responsibility of electors in the party\u2019s primary election.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday read, \u201cThe attention of the former Vice President of Nigeria and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar has been drawn to several media reports insinuating his involvement in the democratic process of electing the gubernatorial flag bearer for the Peoples Democratic Party in the upcoming Kogi State governorship election.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe wish to state categorically that such media reports are false and gross fabrication.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAtiku is a consummate democrat and the hallmark of his political struggles has been for the enablement of internal democracy in party politics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIt is therefore absurd to suggest that Atiku has a preferred candidate in the primary election to produce the governorship candidate of the PDP in the Kogi State election &#8211; or in any primary election, for that matter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cFor the avoidance of any doubts, Atiku Abubakar has no anointed candidate in the Kogi State primary election.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHe believes that the decision to elect the flag bearer of the PDP in the coming election in the Confluence State is the responsibility of electors in that primary election.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHe therefore urges anyone amongst the candidates to desist from peddling influence with his name and, indeed, calls on the media not to lay prostrate to any blackmail against him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAtiku believes that all the aspirants in the election are up to the task of flying the flag of our great party, the PDP and the electors should be given the unfettered rights to perform their constituted duty of electing the best person for the PDP.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Against allegations of plots to impose Dino Melaye on the party, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[22],"tags":[1107,34,140],"class_list":{"0":"post-6188","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-politics","7":"tag-atiku-abubakar","8":"tag-kogi","9":"tag-pdp"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>PDP Guber Primary: &#039;I Have No Anointed Candidate in Kogi\u00a0 - Ebira Reporters<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"...
