{"id":6122,"date":"2023-03-30T21:22:22","date_gmt":"2023-03-30T20:22:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=6122"},"modified":"2023-04-02T22:49:53","modified_gmt":"2023-04-02T21:49:53","slug":"kotrama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/kotrama\/","title":{"rendered":"Court Declares Kogi Transport Management Authority Illegal\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A High Court sitting in Lokoja on Thursday ruled that the activities of <a href=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/2022\/07\/07\/alleged-extortion-of-motorists-kogi-assembly-summons-kotrama-boss-others\/\">Kogi Transport Management Authority<\/a> (KOTRAMA) are illegal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Court on Thursday set aside the Law establishing the Agency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">KOTRAMA was set up by Kogi State government to checkmate the activities of motorists both private and commercial vehicles in the State, however, the body went beyond their boundary by going against the law that established the body.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, the court declared that the law contravenes the Provisions of the Federal Road Safety Commission Act 2007.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Justice Clement Kekere delivering his judgement in a suit brought before it by Martins Ojonimi Atojoko Vs Kogi State Transport Management Authority (KOTRAMA) &amp; 3 Ors, declared KOTRAMA as illegal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While pointing out that the laws establishing KOTRAMA are inhuman, established to cause hardship on motorists.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A High Court sitting in Lokoja on Thursday ruled that the activities of Kogi Transport Management Authority (KOTRAMA)&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[34,829],"class_list":{"0":"post-6122","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-news","7":"tag-kogi","8":"tag-kotrama"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.1 -
