{"id":5955,"date":"2023-03-10T13:29:22","date_gmt":"2023-03-10T12:29:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=5955"},"modified":"2023-03-10T13:29:22","modified_gmt":"2023-03-10T12:29:22","slug":"boy-hacked-to-death-by-thieves-harvesting-yam-from-his-fathers-farm-in-kogi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/boy-hacked-to-death-by-thieves-harvesting-yam-from-his-fathers-farm-in-kogi\/","title":{"rendered":"Boy Hacked to Death By Thieves Harvesting Yam From His Father&#8217;s Farm in Kogi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The incident was said to have happened on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, when the boy raised an alarm to alert his father as he sighted someone trying to harvest their yam.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A boy identified as Achile Abdul has been killed by thieves on a farm in Ikefi village in Igalamela\/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The incident was said to have happened on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, when the boy raised an alarm to alert his father as he sighted someone trying to harvest their yam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A resident, Ajibili Achonu, told Daily Trust that the incident occurred shortly after the boy arrived at the farm with his father.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe boy separated from his father on arriving at the farm and in the process of wandering around he saw a criminal harvesting their yam,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cOn spotting the criminal, the boy shouted to alert his father who was a few metres away in another section of the farm. The boy continued shouting, \u201cThief, thief\u201d, running after the criminal, unknown to him that another criminal, was on a tree keeping watch on the environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The second criminal jumped down from the tree, trailed the boy and hacked him to death with a cutlass.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5956\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5956\" style=\"width: 232px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5956\" src=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Achile-232x300.jpeg\" alt=\"Achile Abdul\" width=\"232\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5956\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The deceased, Achile<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The father ran home and alerted the community, who trooped out against the suspected criminals who were said to have disappeared.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While tension is said to have gripped the community, the corpse of the boy was reportedly
