Abubakar Ohere has emerged the Senator-elect of the central senatorial district of the state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/2022\/05\/28\/apc-primary-echocho-ohere-win-east-central-senate-tickets\/\">Ohere<\/a> who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, defeated his closest rival and candidate of the People&#8217;s Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan with a margin of 324 votes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the result announced by the returning officer, Professor Rotimi Ajayi, the winner <span style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ohere polled 52,087 votes, while Akpoti came second with 51,763 votes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The election has been adjudged as one of the fiercely contested in the history of the state, with upheavals in the minds of electorates and political analysts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ohere, a Mining Engineer, had also served as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the first tenure of Yahaya Bello led administration.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He hails from Okene Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The former Commissioner for Works and Housing in Kogi State, Engr.
