{"id":5491,"date":"2023-01-02T08:42:06","date_gmt":"2023-01-02T07:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=5491"},"modified":"2023-01-02T08:42:06","modified_gmt":"2023-01-02T07:42:06","slug":"ndlea-arrests-three-suspects-conveying-drugs-to-north","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/ndlea-arrests-three-suspects-conveying-drugs-to-north\/","title":{"rendered":"NDLEA Arrests Three Suspects Conveying Drugs to North"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In multiple interceptions across three states, Nigeria\u2019s anti-narcotics body, NDLEA, has apprehended three suspected traffickers with a total of 256 kilogrammes of illicit substances.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The drug peddlers were arrested in Kwara, <a href=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/2022\/10\/30\/ndlea-intercepts-chisco-luxury-bus-with-meth-cocaine-heroin-in-kogi\/\">Kogi<\/a> and Niger, according to NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nineteen-year-old Idris Saeed was intercepted by a team of NDLEA officers on stop and search duty along Ilorin-Jebba highway on December 26. The suspect was conveying 60 blocks of compressed cannabis sativa, weighing 30kg.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Operatives in Niger on a similar operation along Jebba-Mokwa road also recovered 240 blocks of the same substance weighing 168 kilogrammes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr Babafemi said that the multi-colour sacks of the substance were loaded in a Peugeot J5 bus, with registration number MAG 146 XA, from Lagos going for delivery in Kano.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIn Kogi, operatives intercepted a truck coming from Onitsha, Anambra state to Maiduguri, Borno along Okene-Abuja highway where 9,900 ampoules of pentazocine injection (42kgs) were recovered on Sat. Dec. 24,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another suspect, Ibrahim Jibril, 20, was arrested on the same route with 40 blocks of cannabis sativa weighing 16kgs coming from Lagos to Jigawa in a Toyota Hiace commercial bus on December 27.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">NDLEA chairman Buba Marwa commended operatives in the respective commands for the arrests and seizures.
