has told the Kogi government to revoke the land as the company does not want to invest in the state any longer.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8080026755787218\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8080026755787218\" data-ad-slot=\"7193833156\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The manufacturing and infrastructure conglomerate in a letter addressed to the Director-General of the Kogi Bureau of Lands and Urban Development, noted that it neither took possession nor utilized the land due to security challenges and lack of infrastructure in the state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSince our invitation by the state in 2012 to invest through that land, there has been no visible effort by the state and successive governments till date, to address the issue of access (i.e. infrastructure, roads) that will enable us utilise the land for its intended purpose,\u201d the letter reads.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCurrently, the land is only accessible by water and without the required investments and other enabling infrastructure, the venture will not be feasible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThere has been a massive deterioration of security in and around the area for the past few years making it practically impossible to start any project there as an investor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">BUA Group said it had conducted feasibility studies on the land and found out that only about 30 percent of the entire land mass is suitable for its investment with the rest \u2013 66 percent \u2013 consisting of rocky, hilly and undulating areas which is not suitable for its intended purpose.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company, therefore, said it was no longer interested in investing in the property.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cDue to the reasons enumerated above, and the fallout associated with it, we, hereby, wish to indicate through this letter, and inform you that we are no longer interested in continuing with our proposed investment,\u201d the statement adds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe wish to however state unequivocally that had we decided to proceed with the proposed project, BUA would have been happy to pay all dues and necessary compensation to the state and other stakeholders in line with our obligations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis is because as a responsible organisation, we believe in the principles of equity, sustainable business practices, and fairness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis has been the hallmark of our operations and engagements with communities and governments, everywhere we operate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">BUA Group added that said since the land cannot be used for its intended purpose, the Kogi government \u201cmay go ahead to revoke the land if it so wishes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><script async
