{"id":4569,"date":"2022-10-01T13:56:30","date_gmt":"2022-10-01T13:56:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=4569"},"modified":"2023-04-21T23:24:10","modified_gmt":"2023-04-21T22:24:10","slug":"kogi-poly-apprehends-suspected-aye-cultist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/kogi-poly-apprehends-suspected-aye-cultist\/","title":{"rendered":"Kogi Poly Apprehends Suspected &#8216;Aye&#8217; Cultist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The security operatives of Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja has arrested a suspected cultist, Moses Jeremiah who is not a student of the school on campus.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8080026755787218\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8080026755787218\" data-ad-slot=\"7193833156\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The arrest came barely three weeks after <a href=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/2022\/09\/06\/school-security-nab-suspected-cultist-with-drugs-at-kogi-poly-gate\/\">the operatives apprehended Friday Momoh a suspected illicit drug peddler and cultist at the entrance of the school.<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Head, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, Uredo Omale in a statement on Saturday said Jeremiah came in company of three (3) others when the HND II Public Administration students were writing their final papers yesterday, Friday, 30th September, 2022, claimed to be a University graduate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The statement said Jeremiah claimed to be an Igbo by tribe but currently resides at Anyigba with his Father while the mother is resident in Lokoja.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;According to the Chief Security Officer of the Polytechnic, Mr. Jeremiah came to the campus in a metallic coloured Toyota Camry Reg. Number LKJ 22 HK in company of Bakawo Abdul (M), Abdul Muktar (M) and the driver whose name is so far unknown. The trio are currently on the run.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The culprit Mr.Jeremiah was, however, chased and later apprehended by the security operatives while in possession of a cap (beret) with the Insignia of Aye secret cult confraternity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;He has since been handed over to the police for further investigation while efforts are being made to get the fleeing suspects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Campus invasion by cultists at the end of second semester examination, ostensibly for initiation and attacks, was a routine occurrence in the institution before the coming on board of the current Rector, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;However, since the inception of <a href=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/2022\/08\/16\/kogi-poly\/\">Dr. Usman Ogbo led administration,<\/a> the rituals have been dealt a severe blow, as series of attempts have been nipped in the bud.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It would be recalled that one Mr. Shehu Tenimu Mohammed was arrested at the entrance of the institution in 2021, in possession of arms and ammunition while making his way to the campus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/2021\/09\/10\/kogi-poly-suspends-lecturer-for-selling-handouts-for-marks\/\">The Rector<\/a> while commending the gallantry of the security operatives, has also warned cultists and those with other ulterior motives to stay away from the Institution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also warned those who claim to be security agents and tend to parade firearms in the institution without authorisation to desist or would have the institution&#8217;s authority to contend with.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Rector therefore appealed to all and sundry to operate within the ambit of the law.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8080026755787218\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;
