{"id":4059,"date":"2022-08-25T08:34:45","date_gmt":"2022-08-25T08:34:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=4059"},"modified":"2023-05-11T21:06:37","modified_gmt":"2023-05-11T20:06:37","slug":"fct-to-sue-kogi-govt-over-land-encroachment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/fct-to-sue-kogi-govt-over-land-encroachment\/","title":{"rendered":"FCT Council\u2019s Elders Threaten to Sue Kogi Govt Over Land Encroachment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stakeholders in Abaji Area Council of the FCT have threatened to institute legal action against the Kogi State Government over boundary encroachment.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8080026755787218\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8080026755787218\" data-ad-slot=\"7193833156\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The stakeholders, rising from a meeting at the palace of the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, on Saturday, resolved to take legal action against the state government and Kogi LGA for taking over a mass land in Naharati community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking at the stakeholders meeting, the Abaji Chairman, Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, said that in June, 2022, he received an invitation letter to attend a boundary adjustment letter from the Kogi State Government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said, \u201cI went to that meeting at the Kogi government house, which I thought was to commence, not knowing it was the conclusion. Instantly, I disagreed with their resolve to cede part of Abaji land to Koton Karfe, headquarters of Kogi LGA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8080026755787218\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8080026755787218\" data-ad-slot=\"7193833156\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier, the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu, frowned at the manner in which some of his subjects accused him of ceding part of Naharati land to Koton Karfe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said it was on that premise he decided to summon the stakeholders in order to clarify issues relating to the lingering boundary dispute with Kogi LGA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ona then constituted an 11-member committee to institute the legal action against the state government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The committee has Barrister Musa Kaka and Barrister Isah Hussaini as chairman and secretary respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Stakeholders in Abaji Area Council of the FCT have threatened to institute legal action against the Kogi State&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[526,1488,225,34],"class_list":{"0":"post-4059","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-news","7":"tag-abaji","8":"tag-adamu-baba-yunusa","9":"tag-fct","10":"tag-kogi"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.9 -
