{"id":3844,"date":"2022-08-01T21:44:42","date_gmt":"2022-08-01T21:44:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=3844"},"modified":"2023-05-13T08:03:12","modified_gmt":"2023-05-13T07:03:12","slug":"tipper-crushes-father-of-30-children-in-kogi-frsc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/tipper-crushes-father-of-30-children-in-kogi-frsc\/","title":{"rendered":"Tipper Crushes Father of 30 Children in Kogi \u2013 FRSC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, said a father of 30 children was killed on Monday when a tipper rammed his motorcycle in Kogi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Corps Commander Stephen Dawulung, Kogi FRSC Sector Commander, made this known in Lokoja.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8080026755787218\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8080026755787218\" data-ad-slot=\"7193833156\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe man, Abdulsalam Ibrahim, a 60-year old commercial motorcyclist and his passenger were killed by the tipper truck at Ganaja Junction in Lokoja.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe incident was tragic and very unfortunate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He regretted that the accident cut short the life of the bread-winner of 30 children.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe accident was a case of hit and run because by the time we responded to the distress call to the area immediately it happened, the driver and the tipper were nowhere to be found.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEye witnesses told us that immediately the accident happened, the tipper driver zoomed off leaving the victims\u2019 mangled bodies on the road for sympathisers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that officers deposited the corpse of man at the Morgue of Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, while that of the passenger was at Ankuri hospital morgue, Lokoja.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8080026755787218\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8080026755787218\" data-ad-slot=\"7193833156\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dawulung urged motorists to always observe safety measures including speed limits.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also advised motorcyclists to always put on their helmets to avoid head injuries.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also speaking on the accident, Musa Baba-Aliyu, Chairman, Kogi Motorcycle Riders\u2019 Association, said that the deceased rider was an indigene of Katsina and a bonifide member of the union.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr Baba-Aliyu said that Ibrahim was trying to avoid hitting a commercial tricycle (Keke-NAPEP) heading towards him from the opposite direction, when the sad incident happened.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, said a father of 30 children was killed on Monday when a&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[236,34],"class_list":{"0":"post-3844","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-news","7":"tag-frsc","8":"tag-kogi"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.5 -
