{"id":3825,"date":"2022-07-30T18:54:20","date_gmt":"2022-07-30T18:54:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=3825"},"modified":"2023-05-13T07:55:20","modified_gmt":"2023-05-13T06:55:20","slug":"bandits-kill-3-policemen-5-vigilantes-in-kogi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/bandits-kill-3-policemen-5-vigilantes-in-kogi\/","title":{"rendered":"Bandits Kill 3 Policemen, 5 Vigilantes in Kogi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gunmen on Saturday afternoon ambushed some security men at Jidda-Bassa community in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi state, killing three police officers and five vigilantes.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was gathered that from a reliable source that some people living in Jidda-Bassa community had reported to the DPO of Police reporting that some unknown people have attacked their farms.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8080026755787218\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8080026755787218\" data-ad-slot=\"7193833156\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The source further stated that the DPO mobilised some of his men and the vigilantes to the scene, however before they could get to the farm, they were ambushed by some gunmen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The source disclosed that the ambush claimed the lives of three Policemen and five vigilantes on the spot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The bodies of the victims have been deposited at the Federal Medical Center mortuary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile Kogi state government has vowed to get those behind the killing of the security men.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Security Adviser to the Kogi state governor, Commodore (rtd) Jerry Omodara made this known on Saturday while confirming the incident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said some security men made up of policemen and the vigilantes were detailed to visit the scene were some people from the community were complaining about.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, unfortunately, they were ambushed by gunmen killing three Policemen and five vigilantes on the spot.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8080026755787218\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8080026755787218\" data-ad-slot=\"7193833156\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said the state government will take proactive steep to arrest the situation pointing out that all those involved the killing will surely be apprehended.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Omodara added that the state government is doing her best to curb criminals in the state and any attempt by hoodlums to make the state unsafe, the state government will deal with such persons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He urged the people of the community to be calm and government will get those unknown gunmen as the security architect are already working around the clock.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He therefore sympathise with the family of the security that lost their\u00a0 lives during the ambush.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Gunmen on Saturday afternoon ambushed some security men at Jidda-Bassa community in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[78,2],"tags":[92,1530,34],"class_list":{"0":"post-3825","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-crime","7":"category-news","8":"tag-ajaokuta","9":"tag-jidda-bassa","10":"tag-kogi"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.5 -
