The incumbent Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Smart Adeyemi has lost his re-election bid to former House of Representatives member, Sunday Karimi in the All Progressives Congress Senate primary election held in Kabba.<\/span> Announcing the result, the returning officer, Abubakar Bashir Gegu announced that the winner of the election, Karimi polled 288 votes, and Aina Olumuyiwa Olasakanmi came behind him with 73 votes.<\/span><\/p>\n The incumbent Senator Adeyemi scored 43 votes, and Isah Abdulkareem Usman with 9 votes, while Adedoyin Elizabeth scored 1 vote.<\/span><\/p>\n “This is to certify that, Honourable Karimi Sunday Steve having scored the highest number of votes cast, is hereby declared the winner of today’s primary election. Congrats,” Gegu announced.<\/span><\/p>\n
