{"id":3322,"date":"2022-05-28T18:47:42","date_gmt":"2022-05-28T18:47:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=3322"},"modified":"2023-08-29T16:02:36","modified_gmt":"2023-08-29T15:02:36","slug":"fanwo-congratulates-olafemi-after-party-upheld-yagba-reps-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/fanwo-congratulates-olafemi-after-party-upheld-yagba-reps-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Fanwo Congratulates Olafemi after Party Upheld Yagba Reps Results\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The former Kogi State Commissioner of Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo has congratulated Folorunsho Olafemi, the winner of the All Progressives Congress primary election for Yagba West Federal Constituency.<\/span><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Recall that controversies trailed <a href=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/2022\/05\/27\/anointed-kogi-information-commissioner-kingsley-fanwo-loses-primary-election\/\">the election at the time of announcement of results on Friday night, with grapevines alleging attempts to overturn the votes.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The winner, Olafemi polled 76 votes to defeat Fanwo who polled 72 votes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">In a concession statement he shared, Fanwo thanked Governor Yahaya Bello for giving him the opportunity to take a shot, and the supporters of the party.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">&#8220;After the claims and counter claims of yesterday, the party has upheld the result as announced by the Returning Officer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">&#8220;As a disciplined party man, I accept the decision and also congratulate the winner and all that participated in the process,&#8221; he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">According to him, he lost heavily in Yagba East and won in Mopamuro and Yagba West.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">&#8220;My conviction to contest was borne out of the fact that Amuro should produce the next House of Representatives Member in the spirit of fairness and justice.
