{"id":3272,"date":"2022-05-25T07:18:53","date_gmt":"2022-05-25T07:18:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=3272"},"modified":"2022-05-25T07:18:53","modified_gmt":"2022-05-25T07:18:53","slug":"kogi-govt-warns-workers-against-joining-labour-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/kogi-govt-warns-workers-against-joining-labour-party\/","title":{"rendered":"Kogi Govt Warns Workers Against Joining Labour Party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The Kogi State Government has warned civil servants in the state against joining the Labour Party (LP) or any other political party.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The state\u2019s Head of Service, Mrs Hannah Odiyo, gave the warning yesterday while reacting to a statement credited to the state\u2019s Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Onuh Edoka, on the involvement of civil servants in party politics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Comrade Onuh was said to have asked members of the newly constituted political steering committee of LP to ensure that all workers in the state\u2019s civil service were brought into the fold of LP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Mrs Odiyo, therefore, urged all civil servants in Kogi to stay completely out of partisan politics, advising them to be guided by the provisions of Public Service Rule No: PSRS-030422 and 030423, which prohibited civil or public servants from joining any political party, noting that the rule only permitted them to register and cast votes during elections.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Kogi State Government has warned civil servants in the state against joining the Labour Party (LP) or&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[34],"class_list":{"0":"post-3272","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-news","7":"tag-kogi"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.1 -
