The Manager of Nipco filling station in Lokoja, Kogi State has been sacked for his alleged involvement in the extortion of motorists in the State.<\/span> The sack of the Manager is sequel to an undercover investigative report conducted by Wadata Media and Advocacy Center, WAMAC, with support from Mac Arthur foundation which was aired on Grace 95.5FM Lokoja.<\/span><\/p>\n The Manager, was allegedly accused of instructing his sales representative to collect N1000, from every motorist who is buying Premium Motor Spirit, (PMS), popularly called petrol above N2000 from the filling station.<\/span><\/p>\n According to Wadata investigative media finding, the Manager gave the directive since the filing station is the only one selling fuel when the country was enmeshed with the scarcity of petroleum product.<\/span><\/p>\n This directive saw many motorists and fuel users grumbling in view of the current economic crisis in the Country.<\/span><\/p>\n Our Correspondent, reports that Wadata investigative team went under cover to ascertain this alleged corrupt practices by the Manager of the filing station in Lokoja but caught him on camera insisting that anyone buying above N2000 must sought his fuel attendant with N1000 bribe.<\/span><\/p>\n This alleged corrupt practices by the Manager led to his sack and has since been replaced.<\/span><\/p>\n The Kogi State Coordinator, Nigeria Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency, NMDPRA, Engr. Ogbe Orits Godwin, confirmed the sack of the Manager.<\/span><\/p>\n He however, said the agency is on the look out for any filling station extorting motorists in the state adding that, any one caught will fave the full wrath of the law.<\/span><\/p>\n Ogbe, maintained that the agency is currently clamping down on any marketer selling above the Government approved price of N165 per litre stressing that, two filing station was recently sealed for selling above pump price and hoarding petrol in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Manager of Nipco filling station in Lokoja, Kogi State has been sacked for his alleged involvement in…\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[644,34,1777],"class_list":{"0":"post-3213","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-news","7":"tag-fuel-scarcity","8":"tag-kogi","9":"tag-nipco"},"yoast_head":"\n
