{"id":3163,"date":"2022-05-11T22:05:38","date_gmt":"2022-05-11T22:05:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=3163"},"modified":"2023-06-09T14:00:52","modified_gmt":"2023-06-09T13:00:52","slug":"orphan-six-others-volunteer-to-donate-kidney-to-sarah-akoji-from-kogi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/orphan-six-others-volunteer-to-donate-kidney-to-sarah-akoji-from-kogi\/","title":{"rendered":"Orphan, Six Others Volunteer to Donate Kidney to Sarah Akoji From Kogi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">A kidney transplant patient, Sarah Akoji from Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State, has found compassion in seven Nigerians who have volunteered to donate their kidneys to her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Sarah was diagnosed of kidney problem and needed a transplant, as announced on the popular Brekete family radio programme.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3164\" src=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Kidney-Donors-1-300x142.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"142\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Ahmed Isa, anchor of the programme popularly called ordinary president, revealed Sarah\u2019s situation to his guests.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He also revealed to guests that the patient was funded with N500,000 on Tuesday for dialysis which she did last in November 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">On Tuesday, the presenter solicited for volunteers to donate a kidney to Sarah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The following day, Wednesday, the volunteers came up offering their kidneys in compassion for Sarah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">One of the volunteers, Andrew Yakuba is an indigene of Borno State whose parents were slaughtered by terrorist group Boko Haram in a Borno farm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Narrating his story, Yakubu said: \u201cMy parents are all dead. They died in the farm during a Boko Haram attack in 2012. That was what brought me to Abuja and I\u2019m staying here in an Internally Displaced People (IDP) camp&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The other volunteers are Philip Waya, a Pastor, Felix Telimo, Olutosin Adedayo, Abbas Mohammed, Emmanuel Eze and Joy
