The National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Stella Okotete, on Thursday, decried alleged cases of women abuse in Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State.<\/span><\/p>\n She urged Governor Yahaya Bello to probe the development.<\/span><\/p>\n In a strongly-worded statement, Okotete urged the governor to set up a Commission of Inquiry on the matter.<\/span><\/p>\n She said a former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development was attacked and many women were beaten up.<\/span><\/p>\n According to her, a serving female Councilor representing Ajaka Ward II of Igalamela\/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi, Zainab Otigbele Omaga, was also assaulted at a function in Idah during the Christmas celebration.<\/span><\/p>\n Okotete, who represents women in the APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, called for the immediate investigation and psychiatric diagnosis of those involved.<\/span><\/p>\n According to her, a leading party member who has been accused of assaulting the women must be reigned in.<\/span><\/p>\n She wondered why an elected official will lead thugs to attack Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, a Senior Special Assistant to the National Chairman during a stakeholders meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n Okotete said the incident left many women injured with severe degrees of injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n The National Women Leader pleaded with the victims and people of Idah LGA, in general, to keep faith with the APC.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"… The National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Stella Okotete, on Thursday, decried alleged…\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[84,34],"class_list":{"0":"post-2152","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-news","7":"tag-apc","8":"tag-kogi"},"yoast_head":"\n
