The People\u2019s Democratic Party in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State said the kidnap incident which occurred on Sunday, few days after Sheikh Ahmad Gumi visited the state, leaves questions to be answered.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The attack which occurred around 5pm, had scores kidnapped, and the State Commissioner for Environment, Adewale Omofaiye escaped with a gun wound.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In a statement by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Pastor Stanley Ajileye, the party said the attack was carried out by suspected Fulani bandits, and coming just a few days after the Islamic Cleric, Gumi visited their enclaves in the state could not be by coincidence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n While calling for thorough investigation into the real mission of Gumi to Kogi State, the party asked Governor Yahaya Bello led government to take responsibility for the crime.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cGovernor Bello has compromised the security of the state, he opened up our forest, to serve as fortress and haven for criminal, which he recently told the world, are members of his security architecture.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “Our people can no more go to farm, our women are raped consistently while many are murdered in cold blood on daily basis, aside several that are kidnapped for huge ransom.<\/span><\/p>\n “That we are boxed into this situation by Governor Bello, is a clear testimony to the fact that, the governor and the party he represents, are enemy of the indigenous people of Kogi State, particular, Okun land where over 80 percent of these criminals now reside through the policy and agenda of Governor Bello,” the statement read.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"… The People\u2019s Democratic Party in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State said the kidnap incident which…\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[34,140,338],"class_list":{"0":"post-1950","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-news","7":"tag-kogi","8":"tag-pdp","9":"tag-sheikh-gumi"},"yoast_head":"\n
