{"id":1919,"date":"2021-11-25T17:10:16","date_gmt":"2021-11-25T17:10:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=1919"},"modified":"2021-11-25T17:10:16","modified_gmt":"2021-11-25T17:10:16","slug":"kidnappers-kill-one-abduct-6-family-members-in-kogi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/kidnappers-kill-one-abduct-6-family-members-in-kogi\/","title":{"rendered":"Kidnappers Kill One, Abduct 6 Family Members in Kogi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">By Abubakar Sadiq Isah<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Kidnappers have killed a man simply identified as Ayuba, and abducted six family members inside a farm at Lagbeta community in Kogi Local Government Area Kogi State.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Daily Trust reports that the Labgeta community is located on the ever-busy Abuja-Lokoja highway.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">A relation of the victims, Ishaya Bulus, said the incident happened on Wednesday morning at about 10:12 am when the victims were harvesting seeds at the farm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He said one of the deceased family members was shot dead by kidnappers while attempting to escape as they were being whisked away into the forest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cThey were busy harvesting beniseeds when the kidnappers suddenly appeared and rounded them up at gunpoint.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cIt was while they were moving the victims into the forest that one of them attempted to escape and one of the kidnappers opened fire on him,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He said the remains of the deceased has been deposited at a mortuary, even as he said the family was yet to establish contact with the kidnappers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">A member of the vigilante in Kotonkafe Local Government Area, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the incident, even as she said vigilantes were combing the forest around the area in order to trace the kidnappers\u2019 hideout.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The spokesman of the state police command, CSP Williams Ovye Aya, did not pick his calls and also did not reply to a text message sent to him.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"By Abubakar Sadiq Isah &nbsp; Kidnappers have killed a man simply identified as Ayuba, and abducted six family&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[34],"class_list":{"0":"post-1919","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-news","7":"tag-kogi"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.9 -
