By John Akinfehinwa<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n A suspected most wanted and dreaded cult leader, Musa Muhammed, has been arrested by the Joint Taskforce, in Lokoja, Kogi State.<\/span><\/p>\n Muhammed, who was declared wanted by security agencies in the state, was arrested on Sunday night at the Old Market area of Lokoja, Kogi State.<\/span><\/p>\n Popularly known as \u201cAteke\u201d, DAILY POST gathered that the suspected cultist, who was a member of Eiye Confraternity, had been linked to numerous gruesome killings in Lokoja and its environs recently.<\/span><\/p>\n He was arrested alongside Ahmed Nana.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThese dastardly acts committed by the daredevil cultist are no doubt punishable under the recently enacted law which prohibits cultism in Kogi State,\u201d said Alhaji Yahaya Usman, a Lokoja resident.<\/span><\/p>\n It was learned that some of his associates have started rallying to secure his release from military custody and back into the community.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cSadly, this has been a major hiccup with security agencies as influential family members pervert the course of justice in curbing killings and other criminalities in the community.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cPerpetrators of these acts usually have sponsors who easily get them released after committing these heinous crimes.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI can authoritatively inform you that some of his family members and associates are currently making moves to release him from military custody,\u201d said another resident, Yakubu Bello.<\/span><\/p>\n Awelu Dauda, a trader in Old Market, called on the Kogi State Government to take drastic steps that would put a permanent end to serial killings by cultists in the community.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t sleep with our two eyes closed due to these unfortunate activities of cultists killing themselves and looting of our shops.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cSporadic shootings in the air, looting of shops and killing of innocent souls are the order of the day; this ugly incident must be put to rest in this ancient community,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"By John Akinfehinwa A suspected most wanted and dreaded cult leader, Musa Muhammed, has been arrested by the…\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[78,2],"tags":[38],"class_list":{"0":"post-1403","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-crime","7":"category-news","8":"tag-lokoja"},"yoast_head":"\n
