{"id":12721,"date":"2025-04-19T18:19:15","date_gmt":"2025-04-19T17:19:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=12721"},"modified":"2025-04-19T18:19:15","modified_gmt":"2025-04-19T17:19:15","slug":"food-poisoning-kill-two-in-kogi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/food-poisoning-kill-two-in-kogi\/","title":{"rendered":"Food Poisoning Kill Two in Kogi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two persons have died of alleged food poisoning in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The deceased were identified as Sheriff Salifu and Blessing Adama, both from Ankpa.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources, the deceased passed away in the early hours of Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The Kogi Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ovye Aya, who confirmed the incident, stated that the command is currently investigating the matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a case of sudden and unnatural death. Today at about 12:00 hours, one Salisu Ibrahim from Alo in Ankpa came to the station and reported that at about 09:31, his tenant, one Sheriff Salifu (deceased), did not come out of his room as usual.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, the brother of the deceased entered the room through the ceiling and found his brother, Sheriff Salifu, and one Blessing Adama of Ojogobi Road, Ankpa, lying lifeless in the room. Both deceased were seen naked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Divisional Police Officer in Ankpa detailed detectives, and they moved to the scene where they saw the bodies, took photographs, and transported the deceased persons to the zonal hospital in Ankpa, where they were confirmed dead. They were also taken for post-mortem examination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the family of Sheriff requested that the body should be released to them. So, he has been buried according to Islamic rites, while the remains of Blessing Adama are still deposited at the mortuary,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two persons
