The Kogi State Government has debunked reports making the rounds that it is demanding N10,000 from teachers before they can be confirmed as employees of the state government.<\/p>\n

The State Senior Secondary Education Board, in a statement issued to the media on Saturday, signed by Dr Aisha Mohammed Atojoko, the Board Secretary, described the story alleging demand of money from teachers seeking confirmation as a figments of mischief makers imagination.<\/p>\n
The Statement reads in part, \u201cIf the State Government could recruit Teachers without asking for a dime during the process, having been engaged and have worked for two years, the issue of confirmation is their right\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe present administration of Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo is one resolved in making life meaningful for citizens. This he has demonstrated with the payment of N72,000 minimum wage across board\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Teachers in Kogi State have never had it so good like is presently obtained under the administration of Gov Ododo, one therefore will wonder the intention of the mischief makers and political detractors\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Kogi State Senior Secondary Education Board, under the leadership of Dr Habiba Suleiman, as Executive Chairman, since assumption of office, made the plans and policies of Gov. Ododo as envisioned for secondary education, a top priority. It is therefore laughable and illogical for anyone who is scared of the ongoing repositioning by the KGSSEB Board Chairman to want to bring the name of the State Government into disrepute\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe therefore use this medium to call on the Teachers and the general public to disregard the malicious information by naysayers. The Confirmation of staff in the civil service, having shown diligence and met the due process, is free and no amount is demanded\u201d.<\/p>\n
