A former chieftain of the People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Dr Victor Alewo Adoji, has resigned his membership from the party.<\/p>\n

Adoji was the Kogi East Senatorial Candidate for PDP in the 2019 National Assembly election.<\/p>\n
He, however, lost the election to the APC candidate, Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho.<\/p>\n
Adoji announced his resignation to his constituents in the Okura-Alloma ward through a letter addressed to the Chairman of his ward, Suleiman Uneku Bala.<\/p>\n
Adoji cited internal party conflicts and factionalisation as reasons for his action.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been a great privilege to be a major contributor to the deepening of democracy in a manner that considerately leveraged grassroot politics, encouraged collaboration, and fostered myriad partnerships under the auspices of the PDP,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the record, I have seen and heard exchanges around how some things should have been done better, what should have been done, when they should have been done, how they should have been done, and where they should have been done.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet me restate, for the avoidance of doubt, that my discretion towards justice and shared leadership oriented around our collective communion will not abate, regardless.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is my informed submission that looking at prevailing tendencies and how they have now found a perfect medium in factionalized and sectionalized alliances that are reinforced by the \u2018echo chambers\u2019 around the identified provocateurs, a thrust forward can only be guaranteed by a far-reaching decision.<\/p>\n
\u201cSubsequently, in the face of the absorbency from the aforesaid, inter alia, I have reached the inevitable decision to resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile wishing you good success, it is my sincere hope and prayer that our rapport, regard and reverence continue to grow, even beyond the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
