Oricha Plead Not Guilty to Charges by EFCC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello on Wednesday pleaded not guilty to the charges levied against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The 16-count criminal charges brought against Bello, Umar Shaibu Oricha and Abdulsalam Hudu have been read to the defendants before Justice Maryann Anenih.<\/p>\n<p>They, however, denied all the allegations in the charges, including the fraudulent conversion of N110 billion naira for personal use.<\/p>\n<p>Bello, who is the first defendant in the charges, vehemently denied the allegations as they were read out by the Court Registrar.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that Oricha who is the Director General of Kogi government house, and Abdulsalami Hudu had earlier been admitted to administrative bail by the EFCC, while the former governor appeared before the court for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>At the last hearing on November 14, the EFCC had sought adjournment to Wednesday, November 27 in the fresh case it instituted against Bello, saying the 30-day window was still running for the summons earlier issued.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/video-former-kogi-governor-bello-submits-self-to-efcc\/\">Bello, however, turned himself in<\/a> on Tuesday at the headquarters of the anti-graft
