A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Usman Austin Okai, has charged Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State to be prepared for constructive criticism.<\/p>\n

He, however, urged the governor to unite the state and depart from the divisive practices of the previous administration.<\/p>\n
Okai urged Ododo to prioritize the welfare of Kogi State\u2019s citizens by ensuring timely payment of workers\u2019 salaries and pensions, as well as providing essential facilities and services to the people.<\/p>\n
He made the call in response to the Supreme Court\u2019s judgment which affirmed Ododo\u2019s governorship election.<\/p>\n
Okai, however, noted that the Supreme Court judgment did not accurately reflect the election\u2019s outcome.<\/p>\n
In a statement he signed, the PDP chieftain said the focus should now shift to the next four years, during which Ododo must work towards rebuilding and developing the state.<\/p>\n
Okai called on the governor to \u201cput aside political differences and work towards a united Kogi State, where every citizen can thrive and enjoy the dividends of democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also reminded the governor to expect constructive criticism from the opposition, as they are \u201cready to speak out when necessary to ensure accountability and good governance.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe urge Governor Ododo to unite the state, prioritize workers\u2019 welfare, and provide essential services to the people.
