Establishes Renewable Energy College in Kogi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Government has established a renewable energy college at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara in Kogi State.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The groundbreaking ceremony of the project was held on Saturday at CUSTECH\u00a0 by Governor Usman Ododo, along with the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, and the Director General of Energy Commission of Nigeria, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi.<\/p>\n<p>In a speech delivered at the ceremony, Ododo said, \u201cI want to appreciate President Bola Tunubu for his initiatives to bring the project which will help in addressing the negative impact of climate change by promoting renewable energy sources and adaptation in Nigeria to the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ododo noted that the college aims to empower marginalised segments of society by fostering gender equality and enhancing local resilience.<\/p>\n<p>In his address at the ceremony, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, said the groundbreaking for Nigeria\u2019s first renewable energy college marks a significant moment towards sustainable development and energy transition in the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe establishment of the college shows the commitment of the ministry in addressing the manpower gap in the renewable energy industry and a step towards harnessing abundant energy resources through effective collaboration with industry players under the coordination of the Energy Commission of Nigeria\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Nnaji emphasized that the success of the college will rely largely on the support of the state government, the host institution and the community to ensure its sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>He commended Ododo for his contribution towards making the Renewable Energy College a reality and building a legacy that will benefit generations to come.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, the Director General, of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, said the college is a significant milestone in the journey towards the delivery of renewable energy solutions in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the initiative will not only bridge the gap in manpower development but will also enhance the knowledge base in innovation and opportunities in renewable
