SDP Accuses Ododo of Interfering in Party&#8217;s Affairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi state has accused Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of meddling in the internal affairs of the party.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson of the SDP, Isaiah Davies Ijele in a statement on Monday described the move as \u201cunacceptable\u201d and a \u201cblatant disregard for democratic principles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ijele alleged that the government is using <a href=\"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/leadership-crisis-divides-kogi-sdp-into-factions\/\">the suspended Chairman and other\u00a0 members of the SDP<\/a> to obstruct the submission of candidate names for the local government election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a clear encroachment on party politics,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The SDP spokesperson cautioned the state government and judiciary against interfering in party affairs, emphasizing the importance of upholding the right of every party to manage its internal affairs independently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will stand firm in defending our party\u2019s integrity and autonomy in alignment with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,\u201d Ijele declared.<\/p>\n<p>He advised Governor Ododo to focus on governing the state and harnessing its natural resources rather than causing \u201cfracas\u201d in the SDP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGovernor Ododo should be more concerned on how to govern the state and harness its natural resources while the time lasts than causing fracas in the SDP, Kogi state chapter,\u201d Ijele said.<\/p>\n<p>The SDP\u2019s statement comes amid allegations of government interference in the party\u2019s internal affairs, which has sparked concerns about the integrity of the electoral process in Kogi
