{"id":1117,"date":"2021-08-25T07:14:10","date_gmt":"2021-08-25T07:14:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=1117"},"modified":"2021-08-25T07:14:10","modified_gmt":"2021-08-25T07:14:10","slug":"frsc-begins-mental-evaluation-of-motorists-driving-against-traffic-in-kogi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/frsc-begins-mental-evaluation-of-motorists-driving-against-traffic-in-kogi\/","title":{"rendered":"FRSC Begins Mental Evaluation of Motorists Driving against Traffic in Kogi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">By Gbenga Odogun<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The Federal Road Safety Corps on Tuesday commenced mental evaluation of motorists driving against traffic in Kogi State.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The state Sector Commander, Mr Solomon Agure who stated this in Lokoja said that any driver caught using phone while driving will also be subjected to mental evaluation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He said that the corps embarked on the measure when it discovered that a greater percentage of road crashes across the state were traced to driving against traffic, phone driving and dangerous driving.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">According to him, any driver found guilty of the offences will face maximum penalty and will also be banned from driving for a period, depending on whether the driver is a first time offender or not.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Agure warned drivers to desist from driving against traffic and using phone while driving to escape being sanction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cGovernment and private vehicles drivers are particularly cautioned and warned to desist from the act,\u201d he warned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The Sector Commander advised motorists to drive with caution especially on Okene \u2013 Lokoja \u2013 Abuja Road in this rainy season to avoid accident.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"By Gbenga Odogun The Federal Road Safety Corps on Tuesday commenced mental evaluation of motorists driving against traffic&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[236,34],"class_list":{"0":"post-1117","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-news","7":"tag-frsc","8":"tag-kogi"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.1 -
