{"id":10576,"date":"2024-01-06T07:19:21","date_gmt":"2024-01-06T06:19:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/?p=10576"},"modified":"2024-01-06T07:20:20","modified_gmt":"2024-01-06T06:20:20","slug":"three-kidnap-victims-died-while-trying-to-escape-in-kogi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebirareporters.com\/three-kidnap-victims-died-while-trying-to-escape-in-kogi\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Kidnap Victims Died While Trying to Escape in Kogi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Karimi, has said three people in his zone lost their lives while trying to escape from their abductors\u2019 den.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The senator disclosed this on Friday in Lokoja, saying that the incident happened between Idofin and Isanlu settlements in Yagba East Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Karimi expressed concerns over the lingering kidnapping incident in the axis, without response from the security operatives, stressing that more than six people had been kidnapped in the past 48 hours within the affected areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThree people also lost their lives in Idofin and Isanlu in an attempt to escape from the Kidnappers\u2019 den,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The senator therefore called on the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Bertrand Onuoha, and the Director, Department of State Services (DSS) to beef up the security in the areas.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the report from the areas painted an ugly picture as the residents were said to be living in fear.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot go to our farms again, nor travel out any how. People are being abducted every day, particularly since last week with ransom being paid to the abductors. Many kidnapped victims are yet to be seen,\u201d said Olajuwon Olamide, a resident of Isanlu.<\/p>\n<p>The state police command\u2019s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Aya, promised
