The President-General of the Igbo community association in Kogi Central axis, Chief Joseph Anikwe, called on all Nigerians to support the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, saying he is the best person Nigeria needs now to fix the rots in the country.
The Igbo leader while chatting with our correspondent in Lokoja on Tuesday lamented the miserable situations Nigerians have been thrown into due to bad governance saying lots of families in the country can barely take two square meals a day.
He said the ruling government has been overwhelmed by the level of insecurity such that terrorists and bandits are now unleashing terrors on Nigerians at will with little or no challenge, saying the recent attack on president Muhammad Buhari advance party was a slap on Nigeria as a nation.
Chief Anikwe who frowned at how Igbo aspirants were cleverly sidelined in the last primary election of the two dominant parties, reiterated that Igbo people are been marginalised as it is the turn of the South East to produce the next president.
While expressing joy that Peter Obi heeded the calls of Nigerians to contest for the presidency, he said his exemplary leadership traits with his robust knowledge of the economy and incorruptible attributes stand him out among the presidential candidates
He said he was perhaps the only governor in the country who was not been chased about by EFCC after leaving as governor but he performed creditably well such that he left huge funds at the confers on Anambra state government which he successor squandered
While urging the masses to support Obi come 2023 he said both the ruling party and the main opposition party have failed the nation saying it is time to allow a new party with new blood come on the stage to liberate the suffering Masses.
